Food products with genitalia shapes, which are especially successful on social media, can be sold exclusively to people over 18 years old. The determination of the Ministry of Justice was published in the Official Gazette (DOU) on Wednesday (1).
According to the publication, “the supply of products that reproduce or suggest the shape of human genitalia and/or parts of the human body with a sexual, erotic or pornographic connotation to persons under 18 years of age” must be suspended.
Establishments must also have a sign in a visible place where the rule is exposed, similar to what already happens in bars, for example.
Signs with the names of the establishments that refer to the sexual content of the products must also be “relocated in a way that they are out of the sight of those who transit on the roads and public places”, according to the publication.
Failure to comply with the rules may incur a daily fine of up to BRL 500.00, “including the possibility of canceling the license of establishments and suspension of activity”.
