A month ago, a wave of violent acts threatened security in Rio Grande do Norte, with attacks led by criminal factions against the population, public buildings, businesses and vehicles.
The act that confirmed the security crisis in RN authorized the transfer of R$ 19 million from the National Public Security Fund to the state. The text specifies that the money must be applied in costing actions, which involve expenses with service provision contracts and purchase of materials, and which can be executed until December of next year.
In addition, the National Force will continue to operate in Rio Grande do Norte. One of the ordinances extended the presence of agents for another month. They will reinforce security actions in the state until May 13th.
The RN Security Intervention Task Force will also continue to operate for the same period. The group is responsible for “coordinating the actions of the guard, surveillance and custody services for prisoners”.
