Ministry of Justice will set up an exclusive service structure for those rescued from Gaza

The Ministry of Justice and Public Security will set up a reception structure at Guarulhos airport, in Greater São Paulo, to serve Brazilians and Palestinians awaiting rescue in the Gaza Strip.

Once arriving in Brazil, the group will be informed about shelter, documentation and food. They will also receive medical and psychological support.

Brazil is currently working to remove 32 people from the most critical region of the conflict between Israel and Hamas. There are 22 Brazilians, seven Palestinians with a temporary visa or residence permit visa, and three more Palestinians who are close relatives of these Brazilians.

The repatriation procedure is standard in this type of case to prevent the separation of families. Refugee requests for those in need can be filed as soon as the group disembarks.

The arrival of this group in the Gaza Strip does not yet have a date due to the impasse over the opening of the Rafah crossing, on the border with Egypt.

A presidential plane that was in Rome awaiting authorization to repatriate the group of Brazilians and Palestinians landed in Egypt with humanitarian aid to send to Gaza. The aircraft will remain in Cairo to await the arrival of civilians.
