THE Ministry of Mines and Energy plans to perform 28 auctions connected to the electricity sector between 2022 and 2024, 22 of which for energy generation and six for transmission lines, according to ordinances published this Monday (20) in the Diário Oficial da União (DOU).
In the coming year, the portfolio’s calendar includes eight events. Auctions are planned for the purchase of energy electricity for new projects in May (A-4) and August (A-5 and A-6), and auctions for existing energy in December (A-1 and A-2).
Also in 2022, the government intends to organize two tenders for contracting capacity reserve – a new modality that will be tested for the first time in the country next Tuesday (21), when the last auction of the year organized by the Chamber of Energy Trading takes place Electric (CCEE), the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) and ministry.
The folder scheduled a reserve capacity auction for September 2022, aimed at reserve energy. In November, it will carry out a similar tender, but aimed at contracting power.
An auction is also planned for the supply of energy to Isolated Systems – not connected to the National Interconnected System (SIN) -, to be held in October 2022.
For 2023 and 2024, the calendar also projects auctions of new (less A-5) and existing energy, capacity reserve and supply to isolated systems, but in different months.
