Programs amounting to more than 3.5 billion euros are “running” the Ministry of Rural Development and Food (YPAAT) with the aim of strengthening the primary sector, without including the large-scale program “Water 2.0”, which alone will finance immediately, projects of 1.6 billion euros.
Programs that are either in progress or are going to be activated immediately, some of them within the month, which enable farmers to use them and move from the level of simple management and production, to the level of entrepreneurship.
This is also the stated goal of the Minister of Rural Development and Food, Spilios Libanos, who, as he stressed, in the interview he gave to the Athenian-Macedonian Agency, makes it clear that whatever good intentions there are on the part of the political leadership , if there are no suitable financial tools for the farmer to use, then we will remain at the level of intentions.
In fact, according to what YPAAT executives told APE-MPE “as stated by Mr. Libanos, his political goal is through the creation of infrastructure in the field of production, to support the whole rural world and especially the young people who want to enter the rural profession by choice and not by necessity “.
