The Ministry of Women announced, this Friday (17), the return of Ligue 180, a free service for reporting crimes against women.
During the transition period of the government, the Technical Group of Women identified a budget cut in the portfolio, which put the service at risk.
The first lady, Rosângela da Silva, also shared the ministry’s announcement on her social networks, along with a video reinforcing the importance of the allegations.
“We know that Carnival days are the days when we women suffer the most harassment and sexual harassment. The Ministry of Women, led by Minister Cida Gonçalves, has worked hard these last few days to restructure the 180, which was completely demobilized, ”she said.
According to the GT, in the last year, Ligue 180 had only 10% of the budget that was foreseen for 2022.
During the government of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), the budget for combating violence against women was cut by 90%, according to the current management of the ministry.
In 2020 the budget was BRL 100 million; in 2021 it dropped to R$ 30 million; and in the last year it went to R$ 9.1 million.
