According to TASS with reference to The Wall Street Journal, the American company Google has suspended work on connecting the cards of the Russian payment system Mir to its Google Pay digital wallet.
According to him, Google considered the possibility of allowing Mir card holders to use them as part of Google Pay, but these plans are no longer being discussed.
In October, the Izvestia newspaper reported on the plans of the Russian payment system to provide issuing banks with the opportunity to connect Mir cards to Google Pay.
Earlier, Apple notified the National Payment Card System (NSPK) that it was suspending support for Mir cards in the Apple Pay payment service, as reported by the NSPK press service.
As we already reported, Russian Apple users brought down the rating of the Wallet branded application (Wallet), as well as the Google Pay application.
