The actress Miranda Cosgrove best known for starring in the series “Icarly” spoke about the episode in which a man who was stalking her set fire to and shot himself in front of the actress' house.
“That’s one of the reasons I go back and forth to my parents’ house so much. I just don’t feel super safe in that house,” she said in an interview with Bustle.
“For about two years after it happened, I didn’t really stay there. Then I got into a relationship and because that person was there with me, I became less afraid. But I don’t really like being there alone that much,” she added.
Before killing himself in the actress's garden, Cosgrove recalled that the same man had already shot a woman who looked like her near her neighborhood. A while later, she met this woman in person by chance at an event.
“A girl came up to me and said, 'I didn't know if I should tell you this or how to say this, but actually, I'm the girl who was near your house and got shot,'” said the actress.
The two hit it off, and Cosgrove said she found them alike in more than just appearance.
“She said she had just broken up the night before and was going to her friend's house because she was very upset. When they took her to the Hollywood Police Station to ask what he was like and how it all happened, the detectives said, 'Start from the beginning. What happened?' And she said, 'Well, he broke up with me last night,' and she started telling them all about her breakup,” she recalled with a laugh.
Cosgrove said that after turning 30, one of her goals was “to find a place where I felt really safe, to start a new chapter,” but that hasn't happened yet.
