MIS shows “Dracula”, a classic 1931 horror film, this Thursday

THE Museum of Image and Sound (MIS), in the west zone of São Paulo, will show on Thursday night (12), at 7pm, the classic horror film “Dracula” from 1931. The session is free and can accommodate 172 visitors.

The production was directed by Tod Browning and follows the emblematic Count Dracula (Bela Lugosi), a vampire from Transylvania who moves to London in search of new victims.

After hypnotizing a real estate agent who becomes his servant, Dracula begins attacking the young Mina Seward (Helen Chandler), attracting the attention of her fiancé and Doctor Van Helsing (Edward Van Sloan), who soon discover the count’s true nature.

In a desperate fight, they try to save Mina and destroy the vampire before he spreads his terror throughout the city.

The film became a classic for its dark atmosphere and Bela Lugosi’s mesmerizing performance as Dracula, defining the image of the vampire for generations.

The feature film is based on the book of the same name by Bram Stoker, written in the 19th century, and was chosen by the writer Cristhiano Aguiarwho participates in a debate after the session.

The session will also feature a draw, in partnership with Darkside Books, for three copies of the book “Dracula” after the debate.

The exhibition is part of the last edition of the year of Book Movie Clubmonthly program about cinema and literature.

Tickets must be collected one hour in advance at the MIS physical box office.
