Missile targeting hospital in Gaza is unlikely to come from Israel, says Biden

The President of the United States, Joe Biden, stated, in an interview with journalists this Wednesday afternoon (18), that it is “unlikely” that the missile that hit the Batista Al-Ahli Hospital, in the Gaza Strip, was from Israel. leaving hundreds dead, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

“I wouldn’t say what I said if I didn’t have faith and trust in the source of that information. Our intelligence department says it is highly unlikely that the attack was carried out by Israel,” she declared.

“Notice that I didn’t say from the beginning that I believed in this, I waited. Nor am I suggesting that Hamas deliberately attacked the hospital. It wouldn’t be the first time that a Hamas launch has hit the wrong target,” added the US president.

On Tuesday night (17), the White House had already spoken out a few times in this regard, initially saying it doubted that the shot had been fired by the Israeli side. Then, Biden himself said that the attack had been carried out by “the other team”.

Also on Wednesday afternoon, the US Senate Intelligence Committee reinforced the same view, stating that the shot was a “terrorist missile”.

Biden visited Israel today and met with country officials, such as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. His trip is considered high risk, as the war has not been stopped. Israel carried out large explosions in Gaza that day, even with Biden on its territory.

Despite Biden’s statements, Palestinian authorities blame the Israelis for the attack. In turn, Israel denies responsibility and accuses Islamic Jihad, which also denies having fired the shot.

A CNN was unable to independently verify the cause of the hospital explosion.
