A 7 -year -old who disappeared into a Solimões River Lake when he slept in a net may have been attacked by an alligator in Anamã, in the interior of the Amazon.
The body was found in the late afternoon of Thursday (2) with neck fracture. The medical report points out that the wound that led to death may have been caused by the animal’s attack. The circumstances of death are investigated by the authorities.
According to the Military Police of Amazonas, the boy Felipe Tinoco disappeared on Wednesday, 30, when fishing with his father in a lake formed by Solimões in the rural community of Cuia Grande. Following a local tradition, they set a net between two trees, about one meter above the water level to rest during fishing.
The boy slept in the hammock when his father left the scene to see if there were fish in the mesh (fishing net) armed in the river. Soon after he heard shouts and ran toward the child, but did not find his son. The net was torn and the waters, which is remansion, were agitated.
The father asked for help and the searches started the same day. The body was found by community residents. Felipe had injuries on his face and neck, as well as scratches on his body. The Military Police transferred to Anamã, where the necropsy was carried out.
The experts found that the child did not have water in the lungs, discarding drowning, but had fractures in the vertebrae of the neck, as well as signs compatible with the attack of an animal.
There are large alligators in the area where father and son fished. The rarest alligator, the rarest, measures 5 meters in length and weigh up to 300 pounds.
The City of Anã reported that it is giving social and psychological support to the child’s family. Felipe’s body would be buried this Friday in the community of Santa Maria.
