Missing helicopter in SP is located in Paraibuna, says PM

The helicopter that had been missing off the coast of São Paulo since December 31st was located this Friday (12th) in Paraibuna, according to the Military Police. There is still no information about the crew.

The aircraft was spotted by agents flying over the region aboard the PM's Águia 24 helicopter. The location is difficult to access and teams continue work to access the aircraft wreckage.

The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) will take off a helicopter with a rescue team to check survivors and conditions.

Family members of the crew are already aware of the location of the helicopter. They had been carrying out searches on their own since the early hours of this Friday.

In the early hours of today, relatives of victims met to begin a ground search with the help of sniffer dogs, provided by a specialized company.

In the morning, family members said they were at the tower that last detected the pilot's cell phone signal, at KM 54.5 on Rodovia dos Tamoios.

The Robinson R-44 helicopter prefix PR-HDB left Campo de Marte, in the capital of São Paulo, in the early afternoon of December 31st, heading to Ilhabela, on the north coast.

The aircraft disappeared from radars about two hours later. On board were pilot Cassiano Tete Teodoro, 44 ​​years old; businessman Raphael Torres, 41, who had booked the flight to go for a walk on the beach with his friend Luciana Rodzewics, 46, and her daughter, Letícia Rodzewics, 20.
