Missing trans councilor in Espírito Santo is rescued by police

The trans councilor of Rio Novo Sul, in Holy Spirit , Lari Bortolote Marcon (Republicans), 27, was rescued by the Civil Police on Monday night (22) after being allegedly kidnapped in the morning. The rescue information was confirmed by the state governor, Renato Casagrande (PSB).

“Rio Novo do Sul councilor Lari Bortolote was rescued this night, thanks to the intense work of our Civil Police, who acted throughout the day. Details and more information will be presented by SESP/PC”, wrote Casagrande on his social networks.

Lari Camponesa, as she is better known, is the only trans woman to hold the position of councilor in ES.

The case was initially disclosed by lawyer Fayda Belo, who described herself as a personal friend of the councilor and reported what happened in a video. According to Fayda, Lari Bortolote was at a farm with her father when two armed men appeared.

According to the lawyer’s account, the father was tied up by the criminals, who then took the parliamentarian and threw her in a car.

Later, the candidate for federal deputy for Rio Grande do Sul and councilor for São Borja, Lins Robalo (PT), joined Fayda and asked for help to find Lari.

THE CNN contacted the Civil Police and Military Police of the State, but has not yet received a response.
