Miss’s father who fell from the 6th floor of a burning building said her daughter didn’t throw herself

Mayara Nitão’s father, Céser Nitão, sent a video to CNN explaining the daughter’s fall from the sixth floor of the building where she lived, when the apartment where she lived was being engulfed by fire.

Nitão said he saw some videos that are circulating on the internet and found that she did not jump. According to him, “the window screen simply gave way”.

Mayara, who was Miss Paraíba, died after jumping from the sixth floor of a burning building, this Saturday morning (26), in Itaim Bibi, a neighborhood in the west zone of São Paulo.

The other victim is Miss’s brother and was with her in the apartment at the time of the fire. “César Henrique, who is my son, is being discharged from the ICU. He just inhaled smoke,” confirmed the father.

According to the victims’ father, the fire started due to a short circuit, starting with the sofa and resulting in that smoke.

Also according to the report in the video, Nitão said that the family is preparing the transfer of the miss to Paraíba, where she will be veiled. “We intend to do the cremation, which was Mayara’s wish”.

The cremation will be in Cabedello, in a crematorium. ′′ Our forecast is to arrive on Monday (27) or Tuesday (28).

“Thank God, César is fine, I almost lost my son too. We are very shaken, we didn’t know how dear and loved Mayara was. Thank you all,” concluded the father of the victims.

Mayara Nitão was crowned Miss Sertão Paraibano 2023. She was an entrepreneur and has lived in two country towns, Itaporanga and Patos. The young woman would represent her region in the 2023 National Beauty Contest, which will elect the 63rd Miss Brasil Mundo.
