“Moana 2” surpasses US$1 billion at the box office

Less than two months after its debut, “Moana 2” reached $1 billion (around R$6 billion) in global box office, according to data from Box Office Mojo.

Animation is the third film of 2024 to achieve this feat, behind only “Inside Out 2” ($1.6 billion), “Deadpool & Wolverine” ($1.3 billion).

Disney’s production broke several records, including the biggest animation debut in history and Thanksgiving in the United States . Furthermore, the title surpassed the feat of the first film, which earned US$643 million (about R$3.8 billion) at the box office in 2016.
