The Core i9-12900HK is Intel’s next-generation top mobile processor. It contains six large cores, eight small ones and operates at frequencies up to 5 GHz with a TDP of 45 W and a maximum power consumption of 115 W.

In this case, we see that the Core i9-12900HK easily bypasses both its predecessor and AMD’s flagship mobile processor, but of the last generation. And the mobile processor turns out to be slightly faster than the desktop Ryzen Threadripper 1950X, despite the latter’s 16 full cores and a much higher TDP.
Of course, the comparison with the Ryzen 9 6980HX will be most interesting. Including the question of energy consumption remains open, since under load the Core i9-12900HK warmed up to 99 degrees.
