According to Italian Minister of Education Giuseppe Valditaras, the next school period will be banned from using mobile phones in all high schools in the country. The same ban is already valid for Italian Gymnasium and Primary School students. As the Italian Ministry of Education explains in a special circular, the decision is made with the aim of protecting students’ health, taking into account that, based on scientific data, mobile use has – and more frequently – negative effects on adolescent performance and causing problems in their ability to concentrate. Students with disabilities will be excluded from this measure and those who are registered in technological high schools.
