Moderna will deliver 1 billion doses of its vaccine to poor countries

The pharmaceutical industry Modern Inc announced today that it intends to deliver one billion of its installments vaccinefor Covid-19 in poor countries in 2022, in addition to the installments already promised to the global mechanism COVAX.

Next year the company predicts that it will manufacture 2-3 billion doses of the vaccine.

“To date, more than 250 million people have been vaccinated worldwide with the Moderna vaccine. However, we recognize that access to vaccines remains a challenge for many parts of the world, “said the company’s CEO. Stefan Bancell, in a letter cited by Reuters.

According to the international agency, in May the company had promised to deliver to the COVAX mechanism up to 500 million doses of its vaccine from the fourth quarter of 2021 onwards.
