AP Moeller-Maersk announced that it has agreed to acquire LF Logistics Holdings, in a cash agreement.
The Danish shipping company stressed that it will acquire 100% of the private logistics company, based in the Asia-Pacific region, for $ 3.6 billion.
Under the agreement, $ 160 million has been linked to future financial performance, Maersk said.
The agreement is expected to be completed in 2022 and will release significant synergies.
On Monday, the French group Bollore SE stressed that it received a proposal of 6.4 billion dollars from the Italian Mediterranean Shipping Co (MSC) for the acquisition of African assets logistics.
If the deal goes ahead, it will give MSC, the world’s second-largest container carrier management company, control of 16 terminals in Cλεte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria and Gabon, along with three rail concessions.
It is noteworthy that these agreements come amid investments by several companies in stations, new ships and other assets, after a dynamic year in which most companies in the industry recorded four times more profits compared to 2020, due to high demand for industrial goods in duration of the pandemic.
