In Freedom of Opinion this Wednesday (29), Fernando Molica analyzed the increase in informal work and the drop in the country’s unemployment rate.
“It’s that old image of the glass half full and half empty. On the one hand, there is a recovery in employment. But it’s a timid recovery, and there are still many people out of work,” says Molica.
He also uses the metaphor to emphasize that, while the unemployment rate dropped to 12.1%, the rate of informal workers increased to 10.1%.
“This index gives the idea of people formally employed. In fact, they are people who are somehow busy. Within this recovery, there are many who are working informally, without employment bonds, without a formal contract. In addition, the average income also dropped significantly. This is the half-empty glass.”
Freedom of Opinion had the participation of Fernando Molica and Ricardo Baronovsky. The picture airs daily on CNN.
