Mom made her children walk 7 km to school for being rude to the bus driver

The education of the children is something important for any parent and the only thing that is sought is that their little ones are good people. Although some are too permissive, there are others who choose to use discipline to guide their children, like this woman who, upon learning that her children were rude to the school bus driver, made them walk to school as punishment.

Jenn Brown is a woman from Harrow, Ontario, Canada, who after receiving a call from her children’s school, in which they told her that her two children had been very rude to the school bus driver, decided to punish them to teach them a lesson.

While I don’t consider myself a bad mother, I sometimes think that there are better ways to deal with these kinds of problems.

Jenn figured if her 7 and 10-year-olds don’t know how to behave properly on the bus, it’s because they aren’t ready to use one. So he opted to make them walk a little over seven kilometers to school.

The mother posted on Facebook two photos of the punishment she imposed on her two children, where the children can be seen walking while one of them carries a sign that reads: “We were mean and rude to our driver! Mom made us walk ”.

I just wanted them to understand the important role that the driver of that bus plays in their day-to-day lives, I made them do the same journey that they would have to travel if the driver decides to get them off the bus.

Jenn made sure to make it clear to her children that until their behavior improved, they would not get on the bus again. The idea of carrying the sign made it so that no one would stop to carry them.

This was my reaction as a mother, I did what I felt would help them understand that the bus is a privilege, not a given right. Is it far to make them walk 7.2 km? Yes, but to teach them a lesson, I had no choice.

This mother’s post went viral and many people started leaving their comments. While some applauded the mother’s gesture, others judged her saying that there were less severe ways to correct children.

After receiving many criticisms, the mother regretted having published the photos, never thinking that it would go viral. However, he commented that his eldest son immediately understood the lesson of his punishment, but that for his youngest son it was not easy, so he made him walk to school again, although this time without posting it on networks.

I thought that many people would be interested to know that I was accompanying my children to school? Absolutely not. Would you have put it on Facebook if this was the result? Absolutely not.

Despite the criticism received on social networks, Jenn was left with something that is really worth it and that was the best lesson for her children and for her, as the school bus driver gave her a thank you card.

It made me feel like I was taking an active stance on what my kids are doing. He was grateful that I’m trying to straighten them out. I would do it again? Yes. With the poster, no.

In the end, the lessons and advice that parents give is what children will always remember. Jenn can serve as an example for many parents, or do you think she went too far with her punishment?
