There writing it is an art form. Indulging in pen and paper means writing down thoughts, visions, moods, and let these, like great works, live forever, beyond time.
A theme dear to Montblanc, who with his ink wrote years and years of history, his own, now accessible to the public thanks to Montblanc Haus. Open a few days ago in Hamburg, right next to the headquarters and the factory where its writing instruments are made, the new exhibition space is a custodian of the Maison’s values, which has always inspired writing by releasing emotions.
In fact, crossing its threshold means taking a dip in its history. Inside, you can try out Montblanc writing instruments and send postcards around the world, or take part in a series of courses that include the art of calligraphy, creative writing and lessons for children. But not only. You can see the brand’s most iconic collections and get to know the creation processes up close.
An immersive experience in the universe of writing, embraced by an architecture that pays homage to traditional packaging shape of the famous fountain pen. The black silhouette of the building with shades of white inside recalls the iconic color scheme of the Maison Montblanc.
«We imagined a special house to celebrate the art of writing, a place where people could discover or rediscover the incredible power of handwriting, capable of awakening creativity, imagination and emotion in each of us. The Montblanc Haus was conceived as a voyage of discovery, told through the eyes of a Maison that has been a protagonist of the culture of writing for over 115 years. We hope that the Montblanc Haus will become a landmark for Hamburg, a city so important to Montblanc’s history and identity, and that it will be a place of discovery for local communities and foreign visitors, “he says. Nicolas Baretzki, CEO of Montblanc.
Many guests attended the inauguration of this magical place including: the director Maggie Gyllenhaal, actor Oscar Isaac, DJ Peggy Gou, artist and songwriter Giovanni Caccamo, author Leandra Cohen, actor and director Daniel Brühl, model and actress Dree Hemingway.
