In the Montenegro the authorities arrested the expert prosecutor of the organized crime fighting service Sasa Kaidenovic, because he is allegedly a member criminal organization.
According to the Podgorica prosecutor’s office, Klaidenovic allegedly a member of the Kavacs organization – from the name of a community in the Bay of Kotor. Members of this gang had been embroiled in a merciless conflict with Scagliari’s rival, neighboring gang after around 300kg of cocaine ‘disappeared’ in a Spanish port in 2014. This settlement claimed dozens of lives, in Montenegro, Serbia but also in Greece, Spain, Ukraine and Austria.
“The suspect is accused of having, since mid-2020, become a member of a criminal organization, that of Kavacs,” the prosecution said. “He was ordered not to initiate legal proceedings against the members of this criminal organization.”
Kaidenovic it protected the gang members who were responsible for the most serious crimes.
The government of outgoing Prime Minister Dritan Abajović had set as its goal the fight against organized crime. In October, the former president of the Supreme Court was prosecuted for her involvement in smuggling, an operation set up by another gang. Vesna Mendenica, who was head of the Supreme Court for 14 years, allegedly covered the organization, which was headed by her son, Milos Mendenica.
