On September 16, the world’s first sculpture of the creator of bitcoin under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto was inaugurated in the Hungarian capital Budapest.

The bronze monument represents a bust of a man in a hoodie. The choice of clothing with the Bitcoin logo on the left side emphasizes Satoshi’s anonymity.

The face is made in the form of a mirror reflective surface of gilded aluminum, approaching which a person can see his own reflection. The idea behind this is that each of us can be Satoshi.

The idea to erect the monument belongs to journalist Andras Djerfi, who writes on the topic of cryptocurrencies. In an interview with Hungary Today, he said that the real identity of the Bitcoin creator does not matter.

The Satoshi Monument is set in Graphisoft Park, which houses the offices of technology giants such as SAP, Canon and Microsoft. There is also a statue of the late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.
