Moody’s Corp. announced earnings growth in the fourth quarter, as the company recorded revenue growth in all sectors, but on an adjusted basis, earnings were lower than expected.
The company said its earnings per share rose to $ 427 million from $ 314 million a year ago, to $ 2.28 a share from $ 1.66 a year earlier.
Adjusted earnings were at $ 2.33 per share, compared to estimates for $ 2.40.
Expenditures rose 21% to $ 1 billion from a year earlier.
Revenue rose to $ 1.54 billion from $ 1.29 billion a year ago. Analysts expected $ 1.51 billion.
Revenue from Moody’s Investors Service was $ 871 million, up 19% from the same quarter last year.
Revenue from Moody’s Analytics rose 20% to $ 668 million.
