In Moonfall a new interplanetary catastrophe is expected, with the Moon coming out of its orbit and threatening to enter on a collision course with the Earth. The film chronicles the weeks leading up to the impact, the world is on the verge of annihilation and former NASA astronaut Jo Fowler (played by Halle Berry) is convinced that she has the key to saving humanity, but only the colleague Brian Harper (Patrick Wilson) and conspiracy theorist KC Houseman (John Bradley) believe her.
