Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), authorized this Tuesday (04) the visit of deputy Bia Kicis (PL-DF) and senator Izalci Lucas (PSDB-DF) to those arrested for the acts of 8 January, in Brasilia. The authorization is valid only for the two congressmen, on a personal basis, and cannot be extended to other companions.
Of the 2,182 arrested for participating or being involved in the demonstrations, 294 remain in prison (86 women and 208 men). They are in the Papuda prison and in the Federal District Women’s Penitentiary.
Moraes determined that the visits follow the conditions established in February by the DF’s Criminal Execution Court.
Among the measures are: a maximum of three parliamentarians per visit in prison units, prohibition of the entry of companions, such as advisors, security guards and the press. Entry with a cell phone or taking pictures inside the galleries where the prisoners are is also prohibited.
According to Moraes’ decision, the entry of people into the units to visit prisoners on January 8 must be previously authorized by the minister himself.
