More funding needed for Gaza, UN official says

The UN’s ability to maintain aid flows at expected levels for as long as a Gaza ceasefire deal is in place could be affected by funding shortfalls, a UN official told Reuters. Fifteen months of war have left more than 47,000 Palestinians dead and devastated most of Gaza, with hundreds of thousands of homeless people relying on outside aid to survive. Daily aid deliveries have increased tenfold since Sunday’s deal, according to UN figures, surpassing 600 truckloads a day, a target set for the first weeks of the truce.
