The share of sales of wireless headphones in Russia reached 52% as of the first quarter of 2021. For the same period last year, their sales in quantitative terms amounted to 39% of the entire Russian headphone market. For Russians, wired headphones have become less popular for the first time against the background of the proliferating TWS models. Such data follow from the report of analysts of the group “M.Video – Eldorado”, which is referred to by the publication “Code of Durov”.
According to the company’s calculations, wireless headphones in the Russian market have become more popular by 21% in pieces and by 20% in money, exceeding 2.5 million units sold and 11 billion rubles in revenue. In the M.Video and Eldorado branded stores, the volume of sales of Bluetooth headphones amounted to 65%, among them 42% fell on TWS headphones. And this is all only in the period from January to March 2021.
It is reported that the TWS-design models became one in three pairs sold among all types of headphones. The share of wireless earbuds was 8.5%, while Bluetooth earbuds accounted for 6.5%. In general, analysts have estimated the Russian headphone market at 12.8 billion rubles, in quantitative terms, the number is close to 5 million units.
