Former member of the British band One Direction, Louis Tomlinson will perform three shows in Brazil in May. Two years after the last tour in the country, Louis feels that he has grown as an artist and songwriter. In interview to CNN held at Allianz Parque, where he will play in São Paulo on May 11th, he comments on the difference in feeling and experiencing the stage: “I feel much more comfortable now”.
In his last visit to Brazil, in 2022, the musician had sold out tickets and had to open more dates in his schedule. At the time, the presentations took place in concert halls with a capacity for around 8 thousand people. Now, Louis risks performing in stadiums in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Curitiba. “I definitely never thought that so early in my solo career I would be performing in places the size I am performing in,” he says.
It is even in these same places that he shared the stage with four other members of OneDirection until 2016: Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan. “It even seems like a sports metaphor. As if that was a group thing, and this was a solo sport”, he comments.
But there is an internal difference too. “I think the reward of being on your own and delivering a good show is greater, because there are a lot more risks and worries,” she explains.
