More than 100 million Brazilians should go shopping on Father’s Day, says survey

Shopping for Father’s Day should move Brazilian commerce. According to the National Confederation of Shopkeepers (CNDL), Father’s Day 2022 should bring more than 100 million people shopping.

The date still promises to move more than R$ 24 billion in trade.

Despite the expressive numbers, the survey shows that consumers are aware of spending: eight out of ten Brazilians (78%) intend to research prices to save money before making purchases, mainly using websites and applications (73%), mall (53%), social networks (41%) and high street stores (38%).

As in 2021, clothes correspond to the majority of purchase intentions for the date (54%), followed by perfumes and cosmetics (37%), footwear (35%) and accessories (25%), such as socks, belts, glasses, wallets and watches.

The vast majority of consumers (78%) intend to pay the gift in cash, mainly via PIX (29%), cash (25%) and debit card (24%), while 37% prefer to pay in installments, mainly with installments in the credit card (33%).
