More than 18,000 cases of coronavirus in 24 hours in Iran

Its federal Ministry of Health India announced that 18,327 cases of SARS-CoV-2 had been confirmed in the past 24 hours, with the number of people infected with the new coronavirus reaching 11,192,088.

During the same period, the deaths of 108 patients with COVID-19 increased the pandemic toll to 157,656 deaths so far.

The selected active cases increased to 180,304 (+3,985 compared to the previous one).

The number of new coronavirus infections in India has risen again in recent days, raising concerns about the possibility of a new wave. Until a few weeks ago, the cases were falling, they had even exceeded the limit of 10,000 per day.

The second, massive phase of the immunization campaign in the Asian country began earlier this week. The aim of the authorities is to vaccinate citizens over the age of 60 and over the age of 45 with comorbidities.

About 19.5 million people, most of them medical and nursing staff, have been vaccinated by this stage.

Another 300 deaths in Germany

The confirmed cases of SARS-CoV-2 in Germany increased by 9,557 in the previous 24 hours, reaching 2,492,079, according to data released today Saturday by the Robert Koch Institute, the country’s epidemiological surveillance body.

Another 300 patients with COVID-19 succumbed, bringing the death toll from the new coronavirus pandemic to 71,804 so far, according to the same source.
