More than 2 million refugees have entered Poland from Ukraine since the Russian invasion began on February 24, the Polish border guard said on Friday.
“Today, March 18, at 09:00 (local time), the number of refugees from Ukraine has exceeded 2 million. Mainly women and children.
According to the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the number of refugees fleeing the Russian invasion of Ukraine has now exceeded 3 million people.
The organization, an agency part of the United Nations, said 157,000 of those who left the country were foreigners.
In the Czech Republic, more than 160,000 Ukrainian refugees have applied for special long-term visas since the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24. The data were released by the Czech Ministry of Interior.
More than 11,000 refugees were registered by the Czech authorities on Monday (14), a figure slightly lower than the seven-day average of 12,438.
Ukrainian citizens do not need a visa to enter the Czech Republic, and for this reason, the number of refugees in the country is expected to continue to increase in the coming days.
