More than 20 capitals will require a vaccination passport at private end-of-year parties

At least 21 state capitals and the Federal District will require the presentation of a vaccine passport – or a negative RT-PCR test for Covid-19 – for attendance at private parties at the end of the year. The survey of cities was carried out by the CNN this Monday (6).

The requirement varies with the size of each event; in some capitals, for example, the presentation of proof of vaccination is given for events with more than 500 people (see below).

As reported by CNN previously, at least 24 Brazilian capitals decided not to have a New Year’s Eve party this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the decision only applies to events held by city halls in public places.

Private parties will be held, in some cities, following the recommendations determined by health agents in each region.

Among the capitals contacted, São Luís and Curitiba stated that there will be no requirement for a vaccine passport for private events at the end of the year. Campo Grande informed the CNN that the decision is up to the organization of the event.

The city halls of Porto Alegre and Boa Vista have not responded to the decision until the end of this report.
