The sweeping floods that hit Nigeria last week, after torrential rains, have claimed the lives of more than 200 people, according to a new report given by local authorities today, while hundreds of people are considered missing. Many victims were counted in Mokua, the most affected settlement, whose district was literally extinguished by the map within a few hours on Thursday by the river Niger River in the homonymous state. “We have more than 200 carcasses,” said Ahmad Suleiman, the state -owned humanitarian coordinator of Niger (north -centrally), on the television network of Channels Television. “No one can say right now how many dead are in the state of Niger, because businesses to identify other corpses are continuing,” he added. “We continue the investigations, however, honestly, we can’t be sure of anything,” he said.
