The Municipal Secretary of Culture of São Paulo received 296 registrations from street blocks for the off-season carnival to be held in July, according to a note released this Tuesday (10).
According to the statement, the ministry will dialogue with other municipal bodies to assess whether it will be possible to guarantee the parade of these blocks in a timely manner. Definition of itineraries, changes in traffic and public transport, health infrastructure and policing are some of the points to be aligned.
During the Tiradentes holiday, the city hosted the samba school parades, but it was also the scene of street blocks with more than 30 going “clandestinely” through the streets of the capital of São Paulo. Although the city hall stated that the associations could only parade with a permit, there was no repression against revelers in the April carnival.
