More than 3,760 dead in 24 hours in Brazil, preparing for the worst

The Brazilian Ministry of Health announced yesterday Thursday that in the previous 24 hours the deaths of another 3,769 patients with COVID-19 were confirmed, while 91,097 cases of SARS-CoV-2 were diagnosed.

The largest Latin American country has officially recorded 325,284 deaths due to the new coronavirus pandemic, with infections now approaching 13 million out of a total population of 212 million.

The epidemiological situation is out of control: in March the country recorded a record number of deaths on a monthly basis (66,000), with experts expressing fears that this month the health crisis will develop even worse.

Mexico: Over 5,300 cases and 454 deaths in 24 hours

The Mexican Ministry of Health announced on Thursday that 5,381 cases of SARS-CoV-2 had been confirmed in the past 24 hours, while another 454 patients with COVID-19 had died.

According to official data, the death toll from the new coronavirus pandemic at this stage amounts to 203,664 deaths out of a total of 2,244,268 infections in the country of 126 million inhabitants.

This account, the third heaviest in the world, is undoubtedly undervalued. On Sunday, the Mexican Ministry of Health released data on overpopulation in the country, according to which the deaths due to COVID-19 are at least 60% more than officially announced, which means that in fact they already exceed 300,000.
