The alarm went off at the Sharp Packaging Solutions building in Lehigh County's Makandie area after reports of an odor that suggested a “chemical spill” and employees who had shown symptoms of poisoning.
According to the CBS report, 54 out of a total of 154 workers were hospitalized and about 30 had to stay for hospitalization.
The exact circumstances and causes of the alarm have not been clarified. A representative of the company assured that the management is cooperating fully with the authorities to investigate the case.
