The United Nations Humanitarian Office (OCHA) stated, on Monday (6), that at least 569 humanitarian aid trucks have entered the Gaza Strip since October 21.
Some 93 trucks carrying mainly food, medicine, health supplies, bottled water and hygiene products crossed the Rafah crossing from Egypt to Gaza on Monday, OCHA said.
Before the war began, an average of 500 trucks entered Gaza every working day, according to the UN.
OCHA emphasized that fuel input is “desperately needed” to run electricity generators to operate life-saving equipment, but remains prohibited by Israeli authorities.
“Gaza remains under a total electricity blackout since October 11, following the interruption of power and fuel supplies to Israel, which triggered the closure of Gaza’s only power station,” OCHA said.
