According to the São Paulo State Transport Agency (Artesp), the resources allocated include more than 100 ambulances, around 200 tow trucks, more than 130 traffic inspection and operational support vehicles, in addition to water trucks and animal rescue.

The Rodoanel, both in the East and South sections and in the West section, will also be covered by the special operation

The authorities’ forecast is that the flow of vehicles will increase from midday on Wednesday, in the coastal and inland directions. On the way back from the holiday, traffic is expected to remain heavy throughout the day.

Operation Romeiros

Between last Friday (7) and this Wednesday (12), Operation Romeiros is being carried out, in which inspection vehicles from the Ecopistas concessionaire travel the entire stretch of the Ayrton Senna/Carvalho Pinto Corridor and guide pilgrims who follow towards the city of Aparecida. There is also the delivery of reflective vests and pamphlets with safety tips for pedestrians and cyclists.

The concessionaire recommends using the Rota da Luz for practice. If the faithful follow the highway, it is recommended that they wear light clothes, with reflectors, cross only on the footbridge and walk in single file, if possible, behind the metal fenders and against the flow of vehicles.
