There were 912 assessments applied from October 31 to this Tuesday (1st). The amounts total more than R$5.5 million.

According to art. 253-A of the Brazilian Traffic Code, any and all drivers who use a vehicle to deliberately interrupt, restrict or disturb circulation on the road without authorization from the transit body or entity are penalized with a very serious infraction.

The initial fine is R$5 thousand, in addition to the suspension of the right to drive for 12 months. As an administrative measure, the offender can still have the vehicle removed.

The maximum amount, of R$17 thousand, is applied to those who are identified as organizers of the road block. In case of recurrence within 12 months, the fine will be doubled.
