More than half a million reais in cash is seized at Pampulha Airport in Minas Gerais

More than half a million reais were seized at the Carlos Drummond de Andrade Airfield, in Pampulha, in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais.

The seizures took place throughout this week in the hangars.

The operation, carried out by the Federal Police of Minas Gerais, began on August 13 and identified irregularities in compliance with civil aviation security rules (Security).

According to the PF, during the operations, agents inspected flights that landed and took off at the airport, and on one of these flights, coming from São Paulo, it was identified that two passengers had approximately R$583 thousand in cash without proof of origin.

They were taken to the Federal Police where they will be questioned. The amount of money was seized.

According to the Federal Police, the inspected companies that were in an irregular situation were fined and the procedures will now be sent to the National Civil Aviation Agency – ANAC, for administrative investigations.

The Federal Police emphasizes that it is responsible for airport security and carries out continuous inspections to guarantee the peace of mind of passengers, employees and companies operating at airports.
