In 2020 alone, 186 million Smart TVs were sold, a 7.4% increase over 2019 and equal to 79% of the total number of flat-panel TVs sold during the year.

Samsung remains the leading manufacturer of smart TVs for the ninth year in a row. TCL surpassed LG for the first time to come in second. Samsung Tizen has the largest market share among operating systems. Together, the top four operating systems for Smart TV account for more than 50% of total sales. For comparison: in 2015, their combined share was 33%.
