Morgan: “Never superficial”

According to Marco Castoldi, in art Morgan, the public has often got the wrong idea of ​​him that alone Club House, the social media that Morgan dedicated himself to during the lockdown between rooms, clubs, debates and concerts, has been able to dispel. «Knowing me for who I really am, the public understood that I am a logical and, above all, lucid person. If someone unwrapped my improvisations, they would never find a sentence that doesn’t get to the point “, says Morgan on the phone after yet another day of rehearsals at Dancing with the Stars, an activity that he considers a “cure-all” for both body and mind. “Thanks to Club House, people realized how fake the hustle and bustle around my figure was. I am a very normal man with a great curiosity and a great desire to give », Morgan resumes.

«In the last 15 years I have tried to have a space on television by writing formats that I left on my desks and then I found myself spread on various TV programs. I have often received the door in the face even though it is still today the one that gets the most plays of all. I go in the early evening on Saturdays and pick up the program; I go as a guest in the afternoon and make the seasonal record, simply because, when it comes to music on TV, I know what I’m doing. In this sense, Club House was a technical test of broadcasting. It is as if I had made the programs that television has never allowed me to do … for free “, adds Castoldi who, far from any clamor and any controversy, in this interview undertakes to tell how he approached Club House and what it meant for him in such a difficult and complicated moment as that of the lockdown.

First of all, how are you?
“Good. If I were not well I would not be able to face this life that Luciano Bianciardi defined bitter. What is beautiful about life is the relationship. When the relational worlds are functional, one has the energy to move forward: the human being, after all, is a social animal that takes its lifeblood from proximity to its fellow men, and that is why the lockdown was particularly hard. Because it has broken and broken so many connections ».

Is that when he joined Club House?
«I felt the need to re-establish contact and Club House helped me to do it. The voice is a body, and I used it in an almost salvific way to emerge from a possible depression that was hitting me ».

In a world where we are all bent on the image, what effect did rediscovering the weight of the voice have on you?
«In recent years, the voice has taken on more and more importance from many points of view. Ever since primitive man discovered he had a voice and invented singing, the spirituality of the soul was born. In singing man has found an expression that has filled his life with beauty and enthusiasm for the other: it is thanks to the voice that the human being has evolved ».

Did you immediately understand the potential of this tool?
“I understood that it offered the possibility of putting something inside, as if the Club House were a stage.”

What did you fill it with?
«I was the first to use it in Italy to do concerts. Every evening, at 11.23 pm, I did a live where, with a different instrument, from the piano to the ukulele, I made songs that I accompanied with a comment and an analysis, together with questions from the audience ».
