Morgan Wallen is arrested after throwing a chair from the sixth floor of a bar in the USA

The country music star Morgan Wallen was arrested in Nashville, United States, on Sunday night (7), for allegedly throwing a chair from a roof in the city center. He was arrested on three felony counts of reckless endangerment, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said in an X post Monday morning.

According to the arrest affidavit obtained by WTVF, an affiliate of CNN several police officers were outside a bar just before 11 p.m. [horário local]when a chair fell from above and a few meters from where they were standing.

Bar employees told police that the defendant identified as Wallen threw the chair from the top floor of the six-story restaurant and bar. Surveillance camera footage from the bar's roof showed the singer “throwing” and “throwing an object over the roof,” according to the report.

Witnesses who watched the incident unfold told police they saw Wallen grab a chair and throw it, noting that he laughed afterwards.

Wallen's lawyer, Worrick Robinson, confirmed the singer's arrest in a brief statement to CNN .

“At 10:53 pm on Sunday night, Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He is cooperating fully with authorities,” the statement read.

Wallen, 30, faces three counts of reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon — a class E felony in Tennessee — because the chair fell near two officers and for “danger to the public,” according to the affidavit. He also faces a charge of disorderly conduct.

Wallen's bond was set at $15,250, according to the Davidson County Criminal Court website. He has a hearing scheduled for May 3.

Wallen, who has had a number of hit songs including “Last night” It is “Thought You Should Know” has recovered from the controversy earlier in his career.

His contract was suspended by his record label and several radio stations stopped playing his music for a time after he was seen on camera using a racial slur in 2021. At the time, Wallen apologized and supporters helped sales of his music to recover.
