Moscow claims exiled journalist Alexander Nevzorov and his wife constitute ‘extremist group’

Exiled Russian journalist Alexander Nevzorov today accused the authorities of adopting a new legal framework to intimidate their critics after a Russian court ruled that he and his wife constitute an “extremist group”. A St. Petersburg court in a ruling against Alexander Nevzorov and his wife Lydia, imposes a ban on their alleged extremist activities. Based on the decision, three plots of land, a building, a vehicle and some shares belonging to the couple are confiscated, the court’s spokesman said. Nevzorov said in a YouTube interview that he saw the decision as a legal case that sets a legal precedent, possibly paving the way for similar acts against others.
