Some time ago, in Russia, the Face Pay system was launched in the Moscow metro, which allows you to pay for travel in the Moscow subway using a face scan. This is a very convenient way to get rid of the travel card and other accessories that you need to carry with you. And today, April 28, Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport, officially announced that a set of people is opening in the capital who wants to test the same system, only in public transport. Accordingly, those who wish can apply and try out the latest technology first.
“On behalf of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, we continue to develop payment services in public transport. In April, we tested the Face Pay technology with our employees on the bus, and now we invite passengers to join – we are recruiting a group of 100 people. Then we plan to invite even more participants and expand the testing area, ”Liksutov told RIA Novosti.
This means that getting into the first hundred lucky ones who will no longer need to carry the Troika card is very problematic – you have to hurry. In addition, it is worth noting that the service will be tested with a certain limitation, since the Face Pay technology will be present only on the bus with tail number 151568 (there will be a black Face Pay sticker on board), plying along the M3 route. For users who do not travel along this route, there is simply no point in submitting an application for the time being. And those who get into the testing program will receive a special version of the Moscow Metro application for testing in ground transport. It is likely that if the testing is successful, in the near future there will simply be no need for cards and other payment methods.
