Most Russians want to buy cryptocurrency

Most residents of the Russian Federation are ready to purchase cryptocurrencies, and about half agree to use the digital ruble as a means of payment. This is evidenced by the results of a survey of Otkrytie Bank, writes TASS.

63% of Russians want to try to buy digital currencies due to their rise in price. 14% do not intend to deal with cryptocurrencies under any circumstances.

7% of respondents already have experience buying and selling cryptocurrencies.

The majority (53%) are neutral about the possibility of making the digital ruble a new means of payment. 47% are ready to use the asset to pay for goods and services.

15% of respondents are not ready to interact with the digital ruble. The main reasons are the risks of fraud, misunderstanding of the mechanism of use and distrust of digital currency, respondents said.

The residents of St. Petersburg are best aware of the digital ruble (48%), and worst of all are the North Caucasian Federal District and the Volga Federal District. More than 65% of residents of these regions do not know anything about the digital ruble.

57% of respondents believe that digital currency will replace conventional money in the future. 22% are sure that this will never happen.

The survey involved a thousand men and women aged 18-65 throughout Russia.

According to a September IDF survey, 10% of Russian bank clients want to invest in cryptocurrencies.
