Most teens in the US have an iPhone and want to buy a new one

Investment house Piper Sandler has published the results of its survey, which show that the number of teenagers who want to buy their first iPhone is close to an all-time high.

Piper Sandler analyst Harsh Kumar says 87% of teens in the company’s latest survey want an iPhone. The survey showed that 87% of the teens surveyed already own an iPhone.

In a Spring 2021 survey, 90% of teens said their next phone would run iOS, and 88% of teens in that survey said they already own an iPhone. Kumar said the new results are encouraging for Apple.

With more than 1 billion active iPhones, Apple has a large number of potential buyers ready, willing and able to spend money on the company’s services, including regular subscriptions.

The survey involved 7,100 adolescents with an average age of 16.2 years. They live in 44 different states in families with an average income of $69,298 a year. 39% of teenagers work part-time. Either they live in a wealthy family, or they can afford to buy an iPhone on their own salary.
