One night, the arrival of young Heraldo definitively transforms the motel's daily life. The totally vulnerable runaway boy crosses paths with a woman trapped by the dynamics of an abusive marriage. The film is by the filmmaker Karim Aïnouz , which returns to Cannes for the sixth time and for the second consecutive year in the Official Selection. Last year, he competed with “Firebrand”, your first English-language project.
“It’s always very exciting to have a film selected for the Cannes Festival . Even though it's my sixth time here, it feels like the first. It was there that I debuted with 'Madame Satan ', more than 20 years ago, I exhibited at Directors' Fortnight 'Silver Abyss ' and I was awarded 'The Invisible Life ' at the Un Certain Regard exhibition. It was at the festival that I shared with the general public 'Mountain Sailor ', such a personal film about my parents' story, and also 'Firebrand '”, celebrates the director.
